Julie Rust, NCMG
Julie Rust is the Founder of The Fluffy Ruff Dog Spa, and a National Certified Master Groomer.
She specializes in grooming small dogs who keep a regular grooming schedule. She aims to maximize their treat potential (cuteness), so they stay visually appealing to their owners, and are comfortable living without matts.
Her first pet needing grooming was a Keeshond named Gimli. Julie enrolled in grooming school after much effort trying to manage his very fluffy and profuse natural coat! Then came a poodle named Bert, and a Bichon named Sprite. Julie also received extra training from a Westie named Rowdy, who is pictured in some of her grooming award photos.
Julie geeks out over scissors, combs, new grooming tools, and continuing education. She has trained numerous employees to groom, from many different backgrounds.
Julie recently certified as a hypnotherapist, and is utilizing those skills to help people (inside and outside The Fluffy Ruff) improve performance, visualize better tomorrows, and collaborate with their unconscious minds to get what they want.
Julie also designs and creates landscape quilts, using long strips of batik fabrics.

Danielle Thomas
Danielle Thomas is a talented groomer with over thirty years’ experience. She came to The Fluffy Ruff shortly after the Covid Shutdown, and has become an integral member of our team, with management responsibilities.
She started grooming as a teenager, learning on her family’s Cocker Spaniel named “Babe.” She went on to many other fields and applications including ten years in a vet clinic, and some time training Sniffer Detection dogs for California Police.
Danielle excels at grooming all sizes and types of dogs… but she truly adores Poodles, Cockers, Shih Tzus, and Newfoundland dogs. She is fluent in “puppy language” and can speak many dialects of “difficult dog.” She also knows how to hand-strip wire coats as well as sporting dog coats.
She enjoys the opportunity to be creative with different styles of grooms, as well as applying color. Her personal dogs, Harley, Willow, Bubbles, and Cozy, are trendsetters and guinea pigs.
Danielle loves CATS too! She is a skilled cat groomer.
When she is not grooming, she loves to spend time with her family, around the yard and tending her hobby farm menagerie.

Taylar-Mae Thomas
Taylar is a talented groomer, and we are lucky to have her on our team! Yes, she is the daughter of Danielle Thomas.
Taylar came to The Fluffy Ruff Dog Spa after several years of experience as a Professional Pet Bather. Initially reluctant to learn grooming, she has become one of our star groomers, and is a favorite of many clients.
Her sense of artistry, combined with balancing each dog’s unique coat and needs, enables her to produce very solid and beautiful work. She enjoys simple haircuts as well as more specialized trims, especially when she can add a bit of color or a feather!
One of her early grooming influences was a cat named Koda Bear. Her two current dogs, Jade and Akila, are dogs that don’t need haircuts but are always ready to volunteer for shedless treatments and a spot of color.
When she isn’t grooming, Taylar enjoys spending time with her daughter and dogs on hikes in the great outdoors.
